How to reset your Nokia? or How to format Nokia N72, N73, N81, N95, NSeries Phones?

Your Nokia phone isn't working properly or not responding quickly.Below are tips on how to reset your Nokia Mobile phones:

Note that: after performing a hard reset or soft reset, you may lose all the data on your mobile, which will be brought back to the "Factory settings" state, so better think twice before resetting your phone.

The major problems related (slow downs, crashes to Nokia phones are mainly due to:

Internal Phone Memory:

  • The phone memory is full, (too much messages), no space to store new incoming SMS:
  • Swith the primary storage to external memory (MicroSD Card), which generally possess more space (compared to the 128 Mb of the internal memory)
  • Never install applications (java, games, media player ...etc) on this location, keep the internal phone memory dedicated to the main ones (Firmware updates).

MicroSD card

  • Again the same problems may arise when the external memory is too bulky. Guess that the only solution is to delete some unneccessary stuffs..
  • It is also recommended to avoid using a large capacity MicroSD Card (8 GB) with some basic phone. Always go for the recommended settings.

  • Turn on the phone immediately after using the Power button on top.
  • After the vibration at start up, plug-in the charger.

Soft Reset

Soft Reset will clear pending errors and bring your mobile to an initial state by restoring Factory setting. To operate this function on your mobile, the shortcut is: *#7380#

This function apparently works on almost all nokia mobile phones.

It may happen that despite you have restored your mobile to factory setting, the error still exist. In this case, it is recommended that you opt for Hard reset
